Julie and Chris were married at St Peter’s Church in the lovely village of Northop in North Wales, their wedding reception took place at the stunning Soughton Hall not too far away. I first met Julie and Chris when I photographed Julies brother’s wedding a few year before at Thornton Manor. I was privileged when they asked me to photograph their own wedding, especially seeing as it was at Soughton Hall, one of my favourite local venues and a gorgeous one at that. I met up with Julie at her parents house for photos of the wedding preparations before meeting Chris at St Peters Church.
Once I had finished at the bridal preparations, I made my way to the church to take a few photos of the groomsmen before the ceremony. I always give myself plenty of time to travel to the church, park and spend some time with the guys. Then it was time to wait for Julie and her dad’s arrival at the church, timing is crucial here. After a few photographs with the cars, it was time to go into the church. I made myself comfortable at the front of the church ready to capture Julie and her dad walking down the long aisle. I always try and get the best seat in the house, perfect for photographing the ceremony.
After the ceremony, I brought Julie and Chris outside for some wedding photos before heading off to Soughton Hall where the bulk of the wedding photography would take place. Luckily we had lots of confetti so I was able to get a great shot of them walking down St Peter’s main path with guests throwing confetti from both sides. Then it was straight to Soughton Hall for the wedding reception, drinks on arrival and canapés in the gardens. For the wedding portraits, Soughton Hall has a lot to offer, it has some stunning gardens surrounding it, even the interior is perfect for wedding photography. We were spoilt for choice and Julie and Chris were great to work with. What followed was a fantastic meal, touching speeches and a fantastic evening reception in the marquee. What a trully amazing day it was, I was treated like a guest and it was a true pleasure being Julie and Chris’s wedding photographer.
