The wedding of Anna and Alex took place in the stunningly beautiful Manchester Town Hall, smack in centre of the city of Manchester. My day started over at the Midland Hotel, which is down the road from the Town Hall where I met up with Anna and her girls for the bridal preparations. Anna is such a happy fun loving bride and just being in the same room as her makes everyone smile, we all had such a good time during the bridal prep and I got some great photos of the action.
After wrapping things up with Anna, I headed over to Manchester Town Hall to meet up with Alex for a few photos before checking things over with the registrars. Before I knew it, Anna was on her way over so I quickly rushed down to get some photos of her and her dad outside and on the Manchester town hall grand staircase. Always a favourite of mine, the light outside was overcast but really softly lit the grand interiors. I got what I needed quickly and got myself into position for Anna and her dad’s arrival and the ceremony. During the ceremony, I was able to quickly and quietly move around the huge ceremony room to get several different angles without being intrusive, to get the best of the grand room. The ceremony was lovely and after the formalities were over it was time for the drinks reception where I concentrate on some casual natural photography before going into the formal group photos and wedding portraits.
The wedding breakfast and evening reception was all being held at the Town Hall and it looked just amazing, they did such a perfect job and Anna and Alex couldn’t be happier. Shortly after the meal followed some fantastic speeches and I was able to capture some great reactions from the top table and some of the guests. I was able to make good use of my lighting to get the best out of the grand nature of the town hall, and I didnt have to change much for the first dance and evening reception.
I really had a fantastic time working at Manchester Town Hall and Anna and Alex were great to work with, I hope you both have an amazing future together and thanks for allowing me to be part of your amazing wedding.
