This Cheshire wedding was the long awaited wedding of my friends, Nicola and Charlie, at the fantastic Arley Hall and gardens located in the stunning Cheshire countryside. I posted a few samples from their wedding in an earlier post but after a long wait, here is the long awaited blog of their wedding.

Its always special when a friend asks you to do something so personal and yet so important such as photograph one of the best day of their lives. Days before the wedding, I can imagine quite a few people checking the weather forecast for Arley but I dont think anyone was prepared for the hottest and clearest September days, I did feel sorry for the grooms men in their black suits. It was absolutely perfect and although us photographers prefer overcast skies that soften the light, the vast choice of settings within Arley Hall’s gardens meant I didnt have to go far to get a different shot. That leads me to Arley Hall itself, it was my first time working there and my wedding photographer friends had told me how stunning it is, when I got there and saw with my own eyes, it didn’t take long to be completely absorbed by how stunning it really is.

After the wedding a breakfast, Charlie had an amazing surprise for Nicola. He led her into the drawing room to find former Fame Academy contestant and Eurovision star James Fox at the piano ready to sing them a few songs….amazing. What was really special was they had heard James perform during a musical a few years ago during a romantic visit to New York City and loved him. Very romantic Charlie.

Suffice to say, the day vanished. After lots of work and lots of catching up with friends, dancing etc. It was time to leave, mind you at 2am I was ready for bed. Thanks to Nicola and Charlie for allowing me to photograph your amazing day, it was an honour and a privilege. Thanks for having me as a guest too, I had an amazing day.
